About Us

We are a youth charity work working across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, helping around 2,500 young people a year.  No matter what their background or circumstances, we support young people to reach their potential and live fulfilling lives.

We build secure, positive relationships with young people based on the unique needs of each person. Whether through one-to-one support, programmes within the community, local youth clubs for everyone, or targeted services for those with specific needs, we find ways to support personal transformation.

We offer each young person we encounter the opportunity to take part in creative activities, from creating something for the first time, to using our music studios, to building a career.

Our Core Beliefs

We are proud to hold ‘outstanding’ status from the National Youth Agency, their highest award for youth work, recognising the passion, energy and hard work of those delivering our services. However, our whole staff team make this happen, from making our Youth Centres safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces to ensuring we have enough money to sustain our work.

Creative

We believe in the power of creativity, and the unique way in which this can allow self-expression and unlock young people’s potential

Youth

We believe in the power of youth work – for young people and society. And we believe that young people belong at the centre of everything we do.

Network

We believe in the power of partnership – of working collaboratively with others and helping young people play an active role in their communities.

Who We Are

We were founded in 1973 as the Kingswood Foundation, set up to manage and revive a fascinating set of buildings in the local area for the benefit of the community. Since then, we’ve repurposed a Victorian Fire Station, a Magistrates’ Court and a Police Station, all part of the Bridewell Island in Bristol city centre.

These were neglected and near-derelict buildings which have become youth hubs for young people and our communities and hives for creative activity.  We renamed ourselves ‘Creative Youth Network’ to reflect our growth across the region and our three core beliefs: the power of creativity, youth work and partnership.
