Why become a Youth Worker?
Through a range of open access, targeted and creative delivery across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, Creative Youth Network enables young people, no matter what their background or circumstances, to reach their own potential.
Youth work isn’t just about delivering sessions, it’s about building spaces and relationships that young people feel safe to be themselves in, when other environments may not enable this for them. We’re passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and pathways into careers and communities that are right for each individual.
Rooted In Trust
WOur approach is rooted in building trust between young people and their assigned youth worker, who work together to identify needs and achieve outcomes. Twice a year we share our Trusted Youth Worker survey with our young people.
In 2024, 91% of respondents agree to having a trusted youth worker at Creative Youth Network.
“Having a few months of youth work to support my wellbeing has really helped me reach my goals and has helped me work on different thoughts. It has completely changed some of the ways I think about myself and my ability to do things like speak up more in school, perform my creative pieces in drama class, and perform music in front of my family which I never would’ve done before. When I started, I could not get on stage without panicking and asking to leave class – I am now starring as the leading role of the Prince in the school play. Thank you.”
