Alternative Learning Provision
We know that sometimes young people struggle with school or college for a wide range of reasons which have the potential to affect young people’s educational outcomes and personal wellbeing.
What is it?
We offer 1-2-1, small group and Transitions support sessions in school, at home, in the community (or a combination), across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset as part of Bristol City Council’s approved ALP framework. These programmes focus on early intervention and work proactively to reduce the risk of exclusion and disengagement from school.

How does it work?
We support young people aged 7-18 with an early intervention focus on wellbeing, strengthening relationships, improving self-confidence and understanding rights and choices. Key to this work is partnerships with schools, colleges and families to meet the needs of the young person as well as their school or college. Our programmes can continue through school holidays and young people can also achieve a nationally accredited qualification at Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2.
Impact so far
In 2024 we worked with 77 individual young people across 19 primary and secondary schools, with 112 positive outcomes achieved by the young people.
“All the services we have used from you have been great. Really high quality with personable, caring staff who are very good at building relationships with our students.”
